Menzies/Endres Duo was a chamber music concert tour presented nationally by Chamber Music New Zealand in partnership with affiliated presenters across 10 cities in Aotearoa New Zealand, featuring renowned soloists Mark Menzies and Michael Endres. The programme included cornerstone works of the violin and piano repertoire from Franz Schubert, Alfred Schnittke, Salina Fisher, and Ludwig van Beethoven.
This project involved the creation of a cohesive campaign that showcased the nationwide Menzies/Endres Duo concert tour, including posters, advertisements, a concert programme, and social media posts. The main challenge of this project was to find a way to visually communicate the concert tour's repertoire, so I began by listening to the featured pieces and researching the composers. One of the main pieces of the repertoire was Alfred Schnittke's Violin Sonata No 2 (quasi una sonata), which strongly reminded me of Kazimir Malevich’s suprematist artwork. I took advantage of this idea and incorporated it to be the main feature of the artwork, in a way that could be easily adapted into all of the different collateral's specifications.
